The search is on for our unsung heroes – community-spirited people in Boston Borough who quietly go about their duties, paid or otherwise, so we can all enjoy a more pleasant place to live.

The roles these people have and the instantly recognisable places they work in are going to be celebrated in twelve new artworks by artist Sarah Brown.  Transported, working with Boston Borough Council, have commissioned Sarah to design new artworks for six of Boston Borough Council’s refuse/recycling collection lorries.  Sarah wants to hear from local people, so that she can meet, understand and create drawings of the people who will inspire these new artworks.

Sarah will be at Boston Market on Wednesday 1 July, along with staff from Boston Borough Council and the Transported team to talk about the project, encourage nominations, and offer some creative opportunities! Please come along to meet her and hear more about these exciting new artworks.

And if there is someone you’d like to nominate, visit to fill in the quick nomination form!

Transported is a strategic, community-focused programme which aims to get more people in Boston Borough and South Holland enjoying and participating in arts activities.  The programme is overseen by the Centre of Culture and Creativity at the University of Lincoln, and is funded by the Creative People and Places fund from Arts Council England.
