Transported is working in partnership with Boston Borough Council to bring Family Fun Fridays, free arts activities, to Boston Marketplace in 2015

Join artist Alex Blakey of Alx Creations for Sgraffito, scratch drawing, based on the theme of memories.  Alex is currently working on a project called Eternal Memories for Transported, in partnership with Boston Crematorium.

Each person will first be given and encouraged to fill in a worksheet, filling in the blanks on a few sentence to help them gather some ideas such as:

My favourite day out was…

My favourite place to play is…

My favourite memory is…

There will also be other suggestions such as:

My Family

My Friends

My Pet

Participants will then be given a variety of circular pieces of acetate.  They will paint these using acrylic colours of their choice.  Once the paint is dry they can scratch into it using a variety of tools to create different images depicting their memories, family etc.  They will then use a hole punch and string to connect these together to create window hanging pieces.

Transported is a strategic, community-focused programme which aims to get more people in Boston Borough and South Holland enjoying and participating in arts activities.  The programme is overseen by the Centre of Culture and Creativity at the University of Lincoln, and is funded by the Creative People and Places fund from Arts Council England.
