Community arts groups and regular classes that are supported by Transported
At the very core of the Transported approach is the belief that participation, learning new skills and being inspired is the best and simplest route to sustainability. As part of the projects delivered so far we have offered a range of opportunities and consulted with audiences and participants about what they might want to do in the future, and supported people to form regular arts groups.

Aerial Dance & Dance Classes (delivered in partnership with the artsNK Dance Team)
Aerial Dance sessions teach ‘dance in the air’, using silks and hoops. There are currently classes in Boston at the Peter Paine Performance Centre (supported by Boston Borough Council) and at the South Holland Centre in Spalding. All classes are very popular and there is a waiting list for some of them. Participants learn new techniques on silks and hoop equipment which improves physical fitness, strength and flexibility (the ‘silks’ are two long pieces of fabric which you wrap around yourself whilst you create striking poses in the air).
The classes work out the entire body, improving strength, core and flexibility. They are great for building confidence too, as well as being fun and a very different challenge from your average workout or fitness class.
Dance + Disability Classes (delivered in partnership with the artsNK Dance Team)
This programme provides young people (aged 8 – 18) with disabilities with an opportunity to enjoy moving to music in a fun and safe environment, allowing them to feel more empowered within their communities and enjoy an increased level of wellbeing. Classes currently take place at Castle Sports Complex, Spalding and at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex in Boston. The sessions are open to all with learning and physical disabilities. The class covers a variety of styles, genres and movement explorations to encourage and develop co-ordination, mobility and fun!
Street Dance Classes (delivered in partnership with the artsNK Dance Team)
Transported runs a weekly street dance class for those aged 8-16 years at the South Holland Centre (term time only). This is supported by South Holland Centre and the dance group (The Elite) often perform at other events.
