FREE SAMBA WORKSHOPS STARTING IN BOSTON & SPALDING!

Interested in music?

Transported are looking for participants to become part of a new bateria (samba group) in Boston and
South Holland. The group will go on to perform at the Spalding Pumpkin Parade in October, and Boston’s Illuminate festival in November. Weekly sessions will take place on Tuesdays from September:
Boston – Fenside Community Centre – 2pm to 4pm 
Spalding – St Paul’s Church – 6pm to 8pm

You only need to attend one of these sessions a week.

No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to move with the groove!

Sessions will be led by Chris Lewis-Jones. Chris is an artist and musician who has spent a quarter of a century bringing the rhythms of Brazil to Britain. As Artistic Director of Sambawamba Carnival Arts Company (1994-2005) he worked across the UK, Europe and beyond, raising baterias, directing performances, designing carnival processions, playing and recording music (batucada with Banda Sambawamba and samba-pagode, bossanova, forro and lambada with Zaboomba). Chris’s teaching style is relaxed and appropriate for beginners and improvers alike.
