Artists cammdesign were commissioned last year to create a new piece of public art to be situated at RSPB Frampton Marsh, near Boston. The piece, called “Reflector”, will be revealed in a special celebration event in Spring 2015, which will also include pieces of art made in community activities running alongside the main project. If you want to get involved, you still can… Feather workshops are coming up with artist Julie Willoughby in March and all are welcome!
In the meantime, cammdesign are keeping a fascinating blog of the work’s progress, so keep tuned for updates!
These show fabrication of the fourth of the seven sections (Section D), Stick welding the Foundation fixing plates and the Cedar timber. We are very pleased with the way the making is going, especially the accuracy of fit between sections.
We are also delighted with the quality of the Cedar which we received last Friday. The cedar was sourced from a company which is audited by (PEFC) Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and are members of the FSC®, Forest Stewardship Council®. They are also members of (TRADA), Timber Research and Development Association.
