Transported Recognises Climate emergency

The Transported team are pleased to announce that we have decided to recognise the term Climate Emergency, as climate change now stands as the primary concern and priority for communities here in the UK and around the world.

We believe that acknowledging the gravity of the situation we face regarding changes to our climate is an essential step in sustaining the planet for everyone we share it with. We also believe it’s imperative that we recognise that everything that we do has an impact on the world we live in and it is our duty to do everything in our power to minimise any negative impact.

To this end, Transported are committing to, in the first instance taking every step to reduce our carbon footprint where possible, by reducing unnecessary travel and minimising use of paper and printing in our offices. Where reducing our impact is not possible, we are delighted to announce that we will be planting trees to offset our carbon footprint.

The decision to both acknowledge the seriousness of the crisis we face and take action to deal with it comes at a time when our parent organisation, The University of Lincoln, has also announced similar steps and priorities. The University now also uses the term Climate Emergency, is reviewing its manifesto on matters of environment and is also hosting several nationally significant events on the subject.
