Community News: Lantern Activity at Boston Library

Lantern Activity

To join in the celebration of Boston’s Christmas lights switch-on and the accompanying Illuminate festival, Boston Library are inviting children between the ages of five and eleven to come and make their own paper lantern which they can then take along to the town’s events the following week.

Taking place at the library on Thursday 19 November between 4pm and 5pm, the children taking part will be encouraged to make their lanterns as shiny as possible to really stand out and also have opportunity to learn about other festivals of light, such as Diwali, Hanukkah and Chinese New Year.

This activity is free but booking in advance is essential. Places can be booked by visiting the library and speaking to a member of staff or by calling the Customer Service Centre on 01522 782010 and asking to be put through to Boston Library where a member of staff will take your details.

For more information about the range of events – for adults and children – going on at Boston Library and in libraries across the county, visit www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/libraries or call 01522 782010.
