After ten weeks of hard work, eight groups from across Boston Borough and South Holland are putting on their dancing shoes, ready to battle against each other for a place in the Dance Factor Lincolnshire Grand Final – and the chance to open for Diversity in their upcoming performance at Lincoln Castle.
Dance Factor, which commenced at the end of January, has created 27 new street dance crews across Lincolnshire, providing more than 750 young people aged between 11-18 with up to ten weeks of sessions with a professional dance artist. Crews have all been working hard to develop their own dance routines, which they are all performing in front of a live audience and judging panel at regional semi-finals.
Our local groups D-Feet (Holbeach), Explosion (Long Sutton), The Goz Funk (Gosberton), The Elite (Spalding), Elementrics (Fenside, Boston), Electricity Blue (Boston), Deviate (Kirton) and Xcella (Geoff Moulder, Boston) will be going up against each other in our regional semi final for Boston and South Holland, taking place TONIGHT at the South Holland Centre.
Kristine Burenina (teacher of Elementrics): “Elementrics are doing very well! Everything is ready for the semi-final. We are very excited and cannot wait to perform.”
Harriet Mason (teacher of D-Feet): “D-Feet are an amazing group to work with and a pleasure to teach, I have enjoyed watching them grow into young talented dancers and I know they’ll do me proud.”
The semi-final winners will go forward to the Lincolnshire Grand Final on Sunday 10 May where they will compete against 13 other regional winners to be crowned Dance Factor Lincolnshire 2015 Champions! Winners of the Dance Factor Lincolnshire Grand Final groups Best Newcomer, Best Choreography, and Overall Dance Factor Champions will also have the exciting opportunity to perform as the warm-up acts to Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity on Saturday 13 June at Lincoln Castle.
Tickets are priced at £3 and can be purchased from the South Holland Centre in Spalding by phoning 01775 764777. The semi-final begins at 8pm.
