Transported is committed to providing quality arts activities and experiences in Boston Borough and South Holland, and the definition of what “quality and excellent art ” is is something that Transported is continuously exploring as part of our Quality and Innovation Programme.

At a recent presentation to the Transported Management Group, James Urquhart of Arts Council England approached it from this angle which we thought summed it up rather well:

The bravest, most original, most innovative, most perfectly realised work of which people are capable – whether in the creation of art, its performance, its communication or its impact on audiences – to be measured in its effect on both those who make it and those who experience it.  It is the opposite of the safe, routine and imitative.
