Join Boston Hanse Group and Transported for Boston Unfurled workshops, a project to create a set of 20 flags and finials to represent and celebrate Boston today. The flags will be used at future community events & festivals as well as being taken abroad to proudly represent Boston at New Hanse events in Europe.  The project starts with an exhibition about using flags in this way and how Boston has been represented in design form in the past, at Boston Guildhall from Wednesday 24 January to Wednesday 14 February

Finial Workshops – Paper Cutting – with artist Kathleen Smith

We will look at the test panel that has been laser cut for the flagpole and also look at examples of laser cut designs. We will look at how you would create and prepare a file for laser cutting.

In the workshop you will learn how to paper cut. You will create a design that can then be used as inspiration towards the side panels on the flagpoles.

This workshop is open to 12 participants

Open to participants aged 16+.

All workshops are FREE and at Boston Guildhall on Fridays from 11-3pm.

This project is funded by the Arts Council and is organised by Boston Hanse Group, Transported and supported by Boston Guildhall, Boston Borough Council.

Transported is a strategic, community-focused programme which aims to get more people in Boston Borough and South Holland enjoying and participating in arts activities.  The programme is overseen by the Centre of Culture and Creativity at the University of Lincoln, and is funded by the Creative People and Places fund from Arts Council England.
