Join Transported and artist Julie Willoughby from Zoomorphia for free crafts at our Boston Beach Day drop-in workshop!
Remember exploring rockpools on your family beach holiday? Come and help us fill our rockpool with crazy creatures and mixed up molluscs!
The activity will be using paper engineering techniques, templates, coloured card, paper, decorative trim, folding, pleating, glueing and stapling to create rockpool creatures. People can take their creations home or add them to our Rockpool display. There will be a variety of creatures requiring different skills and abilities, from simple starfish and limpets to more detailed shrimps and stickleback fish for those with more time or who like a challenge. We will be using domestic tools, scissors, crayons, staplers, sellotape and glue, and templates are provided to give you a starting point onto which you can add your own ideas. You can drop in for fifteen minutes or stay long enough to make so many sea anenomes!
All materials and equipment will be provided. Children under eight should be accompanied by an adult. This activity is suitable for all ages, parents, grandparents, siblings, children and friends. Adults are allowed to have fun too!
