You are invited to attend the grand opening of the Boston Buoys art commissions by Jo Chapman, Carrie Reichardt & Bex Simon!

On Saturday July 3rd 2021, Boston’s Central Park will have a hub of activity and free craft workshops to celebrate a new sculpture trail of repurposed marine buoys.

The Boston Buoys trail is a series of six stunning art installations re-purposing vintage navigational marine buoys. The artworks celebrate Boston’s rich heritage and maritime connections, capturing our fascination with exploration across the world.

Three artists, Jo Chapman, Carrie Reichardt and Bex Simon have worked on two buoys each, designing the sculptures with cradles of steel seaweed, mosaic mermaids, and forged metal flowers, respectively.

Please join us from midday for free, family-friendly craft activities inspired by the sculptures, artist talks and walks to the artworks. Also featuring live music and a fun photo opportunity with Boston’s own real mermaid!
