Not only take part in this fantastic free lantern making workshop with brilliant professional artists, but also parade your work proudly through Boston in the procession!
On Thursday 24th November 2022, our annual illuminated winter festival is returning for another spectacular evening celebrating Boston after a creative lead up of workshops and activities with the community.
In this workshop, the public are invited to join us at The Local Community Centre on Mitre Lane and create their own lantern in this session guided by the brilliant Осветяване Illuminate artists.
This year’s Illuminate has a watery theme. Expect to see mythological sirens of the sea surrounded by flocks of birds, schools of fish and underwater creatures gliding through the town, a giant dragonfly, also known as the water nymph casting it’s shimmering glow and the ghostly lights of the will-o’-the-wisp.
You can choose a lantern design that fits in with the underwater theme or a flittering dragonfly. More information about participating in the parade procession will be given at the session.
It’ll be a magical experience to remember this Winter!
Spaces are limited, please complete the booking form if you would like to take part.
The workshops are open to all. Please arrive at 10:30am (the session is open until 3:30pm but please don’t feel you have to stay the whole time, especially if you finish your lantern early on!).
There are four sessions to choose from but we ask that participants please only attend one of the dates to give as many people as possible this opportunity to get involved.
Any participants aged under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to both the lantern workshop and the 24th November parade event and supervised at all times. Transported cannot take responsibility for the safeguarding of any under 18s but rigorous safety precautions and risk assessments are being undertaken for the event.
