Exciting Festival Planned for Boston

YurtFantastic news! It has just been announced that Transported has been successful in its bid for funding from the Arts Council England to bring Night of Festivals to Boston in October, with delivery partner ArtReach.   Fresh from its success as part of the London 2012 Festival, Night of Festivals will bring its unique brand of live entertainment to central Boston as part of Transported’s ongoing consultation programme.  The festival, taking place over one weekend, will include a live performance dome with music, spoken word, dance and drama events, a storytelling Yurt, a caravan cinema, outdoor visual art installations and lots of carnival activities revolving around costumes and music.  There will also be plenty of opportunities for people from the area to get involved via workshops leading up to the event: in particular, there will be the opportunity to work with internationally renowned companies Mandinga Arts and Paraiso Samba.  For more information, keep an eye on www.transportedart.com for updates, and take a look at www.nightoffestivals.com for a taste of what is in store.

David Hill, Director of ArtReach, said: “We are particularly pleased to be bringing Night of Festivals Touring to Boston for the people of this part of Lincolnshire. The new Transported project is a fantastic innovation and I hope that local audiences will find that Night of Festivals suggests a whole range of new arts experiences that they would like to explore further through Transported.”
