The Boston Stump will be hosting its annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29th November. At the fayre will be craft and clothing stalls, festive food and drink stands, raffles, a steam train ride and a Santa’s Grotto. Also artist Hannah Gardiner will also be running a stand as part of her Food From the Farm Project.
Celebrating the Lincolnshire foodscape, Hannah and small groups of participants have been visiting various farms across Boston Borough and South Holland between July and September 2015. In her visits, Hannah has met with those who are part of the process in producing and selling the food we have growing here in Lincolnshire. She has also collected recipes and stories from the farms – which lead to her travelling ‘Food Hub’.

The ‘Food Hub’ was set up in Spalding and Boston during market days and special events such as The Pumpkin Parade, allowing participants to sample the recipes Hannah had gathered during her farm visits! Many passers by also took away recipes cards and donated their very own recipe using local produce! These recipes have all been collated together from the farms and the Food Hub visits in the towns to form a book! Copies of the book are being donated to participants who joined Hannah in her farm visits as well as copies going directly to those working on the farms!

The initial book launch will be taking place at The Boston Stump Christmas Fayre on the 29th November. If you would like to get your hands on a copy, donate a recipe and you will be entered into the FREE prize draw! Hannah will also be handing out FREE food samples using recipes from the book as well as handing out FREE recipe cards. The Boston Stump Choir have also been selected to sing a song written by Hannah celebrating the Food from the Farm!
If you would like to see more recipes from this project, digital versions are available here. We look forward to seeing you there!
