Our friends at Greenfield Pottery have launched a wonderful new project, ‘2-gether’, funded by Arts Council England, and are looking for participants!
“This project is aimed specifically at people who have required support from a carer or loved one and have been isolated by Covid 19 restrictions. We would like you to collaborate with a significant other such as your carer or significant support, to create a three-dimensional tile that reflects your coping strategies during this difficult time.
We will provide all materials and instructions free of charge and will guide you through the making of your tile. We hope to offer online videos to help you think about your design possibilities and offer you to join a private online Facebook group where you can ask questions and share your ideas and experience.
So, when making your tile we would like you to think about the things that have helped to support you during this difficult time, such as what helped you to cope, be it your garden, pets, music, family, friends or hobbies.
The project will also it is hoped enable you to express and share your experience of living through Covid 19 with other people in a similar situation and what helped you to cope. We wish to promote a meaningful positive experience and instil creative confidence and future creative engagement, that is retained in the local area leading to community ownership of this art work.
The tiles will be collated to form a larger mural similar to the ones on display today which we hope will reflect peoples shared experience of this difficult time. We hope this project will reduce feelings of isolation by bringing participants together in a collective piece, representing the community and exhibited publicly.
If you think that you meet the criteria of this project and would like to take part, please contact us on enquiries@greenfieldpottery.co.uk or phone 01406 425866.”
