Tuesday 10th Become a panellist in this clay workshop.
Lead by Pete Moss.
Clay is an excellent surface for drawing into employing a variety of tools which can be used to draw, scratch, impress and stamp into the surface of the clay tiles and slabs in order to build up simple or complicated three-dimensional surfaces.
The clay is similar in colour and texture to good drawing paper. The resultant clay surface drawings will be filled with a dark stoneware slip. The final firing will be 1220 degrees centigrade which will create a strong, waterproof finish.
Pete will provide rolled out clay sheets and a range of suitable tools. At the end of the workshop the clay works will be fired at Pete’s studio and the finished works returned to you from there when completed. The workshop will finish at around 1.0pm.
