Community arts groups and regular classes that are supported by Transported
At the very core of the Transported approach is the belief that participation, learning new skills and being inspired is the best and simplest route to sustainability. As part of the projects delivered so far we have offered a range of opportunities and consulted with audiences and participants about what they might want to do in the future, and supported people to form regular arts groups.

Aerial Dance Classes
Aerial Dance sessions teach ‘dance in the air’, using silks and hoops. The classes are usually taught in Boston at the Peter Paine Performance Centre (supported by Boston Borough Council) and at the South Holland Centre in Spalding. All classes are very popular and there is a waiting list for some of them. Participants learn new techniques on silks and hoop equipment which improves physical fitness, strength and flexibility (the ‘silks’ are two long pieces of fabric which you wrap around yourself whilst you create striking poses in the air).
The classes work out the entire body, improving strength, core and flexibility. They are great for building confidence too, as well as being fun and a very different challenge from your average workout or fitness class.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the session continued virtually.
