Wire Sculpture on the Mobile Library

Free wire sculpture workshops with Faceless Arts on the mobile library begin next week!

Transported and Lincolnshire Library Service are happy to announce that Faceless Arts will return to the mobile library to deliver a series of free wire sculpture workshops on the mobile library.

Using brightly coloured aluminium wire, artists from Faceless Arts will help you to create a wide range of individual sculptures from small flowers and creatures to figures. These sculptures can be created in a few minutes or can be completed over a number of mobile library visits. You can make a number of different sculptures over the weeks helping you to develop your skills. The finished pieces will contribute to a touring exhibition in a mobile library unit, before being available for you to collect to take home to keep.

The workshops, organised by Transported in partnership with the Lincolnshire Library Service will take place on the same library route throughout June, July and August. The final pieces will be displayed in the mobile library in September. The sessions follow a series of successful silk painting workshops with Faceless Arts on the mobile library in the summer of 2015.

Bring your ideas and we’ll help you sculpt them!

The workshops are free and open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is not required.

Tony Wade, Artistic Director of Faceless Arts said: ‘We are really looking forward to working with Transported and the Lincolnshire mobile libraries service again. After the success of last year’s Open Book project, and the silk painted book marks, we are hoping for similar success with our wire sculpture project. Sculpting with aluminium wire can produce beautiful results surprisingly quickly and we hope many people will attend the workshops in and around the Mobile Library.”
